Summer has arrived! Cool, refresh and vitalize with this Summertime herbal tea.
Benefits the body, mind and spirit, Cooling in nature, hydrating and rich in antioxidants, this beautiful zingy tea will support optimal summertime health. Vitamin C, flavinoids and anthrocyanins protect against free radical damage, in the summer this is particularly helpful in protecting against sun damage.
Hibiscus has been found to lower cholesterol, normalize blood pressure and help with proper blood sugar maintenance. Calendula is rich in antioxidants, is soothing and healing internally and externally. Rose petals and hips are also rich in Vitamin C, adding to the immune stimulating, protective, anti-inflammatory qualities.
Sunshine Zing Refresher Tea
1 galleon of Spring Water
1/2 cup dried Hibiscus flowers (Hibiscus sabdariffa)
1/2 cup dried Calendula flowers (Calendula officinalis)
1/2 cup dried Rose Petals (Rosa damascena)
1/4 cup dried Rosehips (Rosa damascena)
1/2 organic lemon sliced
**** For a single serve mason jar about a half tablespoon of the first four herbs and 1/4 tablespoon of rose hips. ****
Add the dried herbs to the large glass jar, cover with spring water. Stir, cover the top of the jar and let sit in a sunny spot for 1-2 hours.
Strain and refrigerate until cool. Can also freeze into ice-cubes to add some zing to cups of water. Enjoy!
